Changes In FTSE Indices

Further to the FTSE notice issued on 27 June 2003 regarding the demerger of Kesa Electricals from Kingfisher, based on todays closing market capitalisation of Kingfisher at GBP 7.2bn, Kesa Electricals has been estimated with a market capitalisation of GBP 900m.

Please note, in accordance with the above estimate, Kesa Electricals represents 12.5% of Kingfisher. Therefore the market capitalisation of Kesa applied to FTSE indices after the close of business on Friday 4 July 2003 will represent 12.5% of Kingfishers market capitalisation at the same time.

In accordance with the terms of the demerger, each Kingfisher share will receive 1 Kesa Electricals share, this is immediately followed by a share consolidation of both Kesa Electricals shares (every 5 shares consolidate into 1) and Kingfisher shares (every 8 shares consolidating into 7). The number of shares below reflects the current number of Kingfisher shares in FTSE indices and resulting Kesa Electrical shares after the consolidation terms have been applied.
